Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is 1.5-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

  1. General Information
    The Journal of Engineering, Science, Innovation, and Computation (JESIC) welcomes original research articles, review papers, and short communications in the areas of materials science, instrumentation, and energy technologies. Manuscripts submitted to JESIC must be original, not under consideration elsewhere, and must comply with ethical standards. All submissions will undergo double-blind peer review by experts in the relevant field.
  2. Types of Manuscripts
    • Original Research Articles (5,000–7,000 words)
    • Review Articles (6,000–10,000 words)
    • Short Communications (2,000–3,000 words)
  3. Manuscript Structure
    All manuscripts should be written in English and prepared in the following format:
    • Title Page
      Title (concise and informative)
    • Full names and affiliations of all authors
      Corresponding author’s email address
      ORCID ID (optional but encouraged)
    • Abstract (150–250 words)
      Followed by 3–6 keywords.
    • Main Text (IMRaD structure for research articles)
      • Introduction
      • Materials and Methods / Experimental Section
      • Results and Discussion
      • Conclusion
    • Acknowledgments (if any)
    • Conflict of Interest Statement
    • References (IEEE or APA style – follow journal’s template)
      References should be recent and relevant

  4. Formatting Guidelines
    File type: Microsoft Word (.docx)
    Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 spacing
    Margin: 2.5 cm on all sides
    Use SI units consistently
    Tables and figures should be numbered and captioned properly
    Equations must be editable (use Equation Editor)
    A template is available for download on the journal's website.
  5. Ethical Considerations
    Authors must follow ethical guidelines, including proper citation, avoiding plagiarism, and obtaining appropriate permissions for reproduced content. Plagiarism screening is conducted using plagiarism detection software.
  6. Submission Process
    Manuscripts should be submitted electronically via the journal’s online submission system.
    Upon submission, authors will receive a confirmation email and a manuscript ID for tracking purposes.
  7. Article Processing Charge (APC)
    Currently, JESIC does not require any Article Processing Charges (APC). All stages of submission, review, and publication are free of charge for authors.

Copyright Notice

By submitting a manuscript to JESIC, the authors agree to the following terms:

  1. The authors retain copyright and grant JESIC the right of first publication.

  2. Authors are permitted to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in JESIC.

  3. Authors are allowed and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) prior to and during the submission process, as it can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and greater citation of published work.

By submitting, the authors confirm that the manuscript is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under consideration by another publication.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
